Music industry veteran and Nashville Music Consultants Founder & CEO Clay Myers has had a hand in helping launch and guide the careers of numerous country artists over the past 30+ years.  Myers has experience in all facets of the music industry ranging from artists management and music publishing to working for a talent agency and everything in between.

Originally from Orange Park, Florida, Myers moved to Nashville in 1986 to work for Maypop Music, owned by legendary country supergroup ALABAMA.  Several years later, he took on a new role at Reba McEntire’s Starstruck Entertainment, serving as General Manager of a newly developed music publishing division.

Over the next several years, Myers lead the company to massive success as Starstruck Writers Group secured many chart topping songs, signing up and coming songwriting superstars, including Mark D. Sanders, ASCAP’s Songwriter of the Year in 1997.  During that time, Myers was also elected to the Board of Directors of the National Music Publishers Association.  On the management side, Myers served as day-to-day manager for Billy Dean (Capital Records), Linda Davis (Arista Records), 4 Runner (Polydor Records), and River Road (Capital Records).

In 1997, Myers made the move to Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where he helped secure catalog representation deals with Sony/ATV and a CAA joint venture with Chrysalis Music. Also, while at CAA, he developed and secured record deals for Little Big Town (Mercury Records) and Emerson Drive (DreamWorks Records), and secured a number of album cuts, including the award winning single “Beautiful Mess” by Diamond Rio.

Later, as GM/VP of Roy Orbison Music/Still Working Music, Myers worked with hit makers Tommy Lee James, Terry McBride, Liz Rose, Clay Mills, and Billy Burnette, all of which generated chart-topping singles during his tenure, including Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” by Liz Rose, which was awarded BMI Song of the Year.  Always an advocate of artist development, Myers was integral in signing young artists to record deals like Danielle Peck (Big Machine Records), Jedd Hughes (Capital Records), Kaci Brown (Interscope Records) and the rock band Luna Halo (Sony Records).

Warner Brothers Records Senior VP of A&R, Scott Hendricks called on Myers in 2012 to head publishing company Big Tractor Music. While there, Myers secured several chart topping country hits for Blake Shelton, Easton Corbin and William Michael Morgan. Myers was also instrumental in securing a buyer for the company’s catalog.  Round Hill Music purchased the catalog and Myers served as a consultant for the newly acquired catalog and its writers.  During this same period, he also joined the management team at Trey Turner Artist Management, representing Easton Corbin (Mercury Records) and Jackie Lee (Broken Bow Records).

In 2015, Myers was contracted to establish and launch an independent music publishing and artists development company called MV2 Entertainment.  It was in that position that Myers realized that there was a need for independent consultants to help those talented and driven songwriters and artists pursue their dreams in the industry.

A self-proclaimed “Dream Shepherd” with a passion for artist development and music publishing, Myers now heads Nashville Music Consultants LLC, a company devoted to assisting with the creative growth and development of publishers’ music catalogs, songwriters and developing artists.  Of his new role, Myers says, “Being a part of creative growth and success has always been my passion. Dreams are only wishes unless you make a plan and take massive action! That is how I can help. I am here to assist with a plan of action.”
